5-Day Forecast
an Intro to Page Setup, Tables, & Graphics in Microsoft Word
- To change the page so that it is wide (landscape orientation):

Click File in the Menu Bar, then Page Setup. Click the tab at the top that says
Margins (Paper Size tab in older versions). Find the Orientation area with
options, Portrait or Landscape. Select
Landscape. Click OK
- Center the title "5-Day Forecast". Choose a font you like. Set the size to 26.
- Enter twice to leave space below your title. Leave it centered.
- Create a table:
Click Table in the Menu Bar. Move down to Insert Table then click.
We want 5 columns, but leave the number of rows on 2. Rows can be added automatically.
Click OK.
- Type "Monday" in the first cell. Press the tab key on your keyboard to move to
the next cell. Type "Tuesday" in the second cell. Continue through Friday and
tab to the first cell in the second row.
- Insert the weather graphics from your saved location.
Be sure the flashing insertion point (cursor) is in the first cell. Click Insert in the Menu Bar.
Move down and across Picture (or image) then click From File.
Look for the 2 things you remembered (File name and File
location) when you saved the images. First look in the place you saved
it by using the drop down menu to browse to the correct file location. Then
look for the filename you gave it. Click the correct filename and then the OK or Insert Button.
- Tab to move to the next cell and insert another graphic there. Continue through Friday.
- Tab to create another row.
- Type the forecasted low temperature. To type the degree symbol, ° hold down the Alt key
and type 2 4 8 on the numeric keypad. (The numeric keypad
must be on. Look for the indicator light.)
- Press enter to drop to the next line within that same cell, just below your low temp.
Now type the forecasted high temperature for that day.
- Tab to the next cell. Repeat the steps, filling in the temperatures for each day.
