Symbols
You can insert symbols into Word documents.
Click Insert in the Menu Bar, then Symbol.
Notice the font area of the window that appeared.
You can change fonts to see different symbols offered.
Be sure to look at the symbols under these fonts:
If you want to use a symbol in your document, click the Insert button at the bottom of the Symbol window.
Symbol Scavenger Hunt
Begin with a new Word document.
Title this document "Symbols". Center the title, and use the Times New Roman font, bold, size 18. Put your name just below the title. Use the average size 14.
Enter twice to allow space below your title and name.
Insert as many of these symbols as you can find. Use font size 26. You may choose whether or not to make them bold.

Symbol Scavenger Hunt with the Character Map
Begin with a new Word document.Title this document "Character Map". Center the title, and use the Times New Roman font, bold, size 18. Put your name just below the title. Set your name to size 14.
Enter twice to allow space below your title and name.
Open the Character Map from the Start Menu, Programs, Accessories, System Tools.
Click any symbol shown, hold the mouse button down and drag across symbols to see a larger view of each.
Click the Select button to prepare a list of symbols you can then copy and paste into your document.
Locate these symbols in the Webdings font. Place them in order in the Select field. Paste the entire group into your document and set the font size to 28.
Create a numbered list and correctly spell each item shown on your document.
