Challenge #8
A
Chess Board Fable
"There once was a Raja who had a great deal of rice. A wise man asked
for a single grain of rice for one of the squares of a chessboard. The next day he asked
for twice as much for the second square, so the Raja gave him two grains of rice. The Raja
asked the wiseman why he asked for so little rice. He asked the Raja to continue giving
double rice through all the squares of the chessboard. How much rice will the wiseman
collect for the last square of the chessboard?"
